With yesterday's rain, the ride into town was much more colorful. Prior to our getting some precipitation, I had been thinking that the Fall colors were past their prime, but now the yellows and oranges of the cottonwoods and quakies are a stark contrast to the evergreens. Along the Bitterroot river, the intensified shades of gold in the trees are repeated on the surface of the water. The oaks and maples in town are mostly starting to fade, but there are a few bright spots here and there.
