Summer Solstice

It was 45 degrees this morning, so not terribly summery, but the sun is out and skies are mostly clear unlike the last few days.

Since first light has been about 4:30 in the morning for the last few weeks, it's been difficult to convince the pets that it's not time to rise and shine and get the food in their bowls. The cats race around the living room and bounce across the bed or make noise using the scratching post, and the dogs shake and rattle their collars and groan loudly while making that first morning stretch. Frankly, the usual 5a.m. wakeup time, whether in the dark or light, is plenty early enough.
