The balsam root is past its prime, but the lupines are putting on a show this year. Yesterday we finally had a day with more sun than clouds, and the warmth helped highlight the delicate scent of the lupines. It took what seemed a long time for trillium to come up this year, but it finally appeared last week. Like the paintbrush, I'm seeing more of it than in past years.
Taking the dogs for a walk up the hill I took along my camera to get some wildflower shots. On the way back down we ran into the neighbor and her friend riding their horses up the road. Like me they were taking advantage of the dry day.
